Here today, gone tomorrowShe awoke to sparrows chirping outside her window, with the latch half open, their songs lulled her awake. Madeline dug her face into her pillow, moaning. Slowing inclining her head to one side of her bed she saw the time. It was too early to bother getting up. Though the light streaming through her window told a different story. It wasn't until later in the trip that I got more confident to take pictures of people.

Which sucks IMMENSELY because I had the perfect opportunity back in Beijing to ask an aging lady, who let us into her courtyard home, to take her portrait. But I got way too shy. But, to be fair, it was only the first full day there. (we got there in the afternoon the day before)
